A near-infrared probe for detecting and interposing amyloid beta oligomerization in early Alzheimer's disease
- Pages: 456-466
- First Published: 18 April 2022

In the present study, a novel near-infrared fluorescent probe (NB) was designed and synthesized to specifically bind a phenylalanine dipeptide (FF) motif of β-amyloid (Aβ). It is important to note that the NB probe not only predominantly recognizes oligomeric Aβ but also inhibits Aβ self-assembly through π-π interaction between NB and FF. This mechanism of action holds great promise in the early diagnosis of AD and may provide a novel therapeutic strategy to combat AD and other types of amyloidosis.
